JEWELLERY

Do you offer international shipping?

Yes we do. Our prices are £30 within Europe and £35 outside of Europe. You can find more information in our Delivery and Returns section.

How do I return an item?

We are happy for you to return any item purchased online for a full refund within 14 days of the purchase date, or exchange the item within 30 days. Please send the item to one of our stores with the purchase email or bring it into one of our stores and the team will be able to offer a refund within 48 hours. For more information please see our Delivery and Returns section.

Do you create custom or bespoke Jewellery?

Yes we do. Send an email to [email protected] for a free consultation or visit our bespoke design page for more information.

Can you value my jewellery?

Yes. We do offer jewellery valuations and all valuations are undertaken by a registered NAJ valuer. It is £75 for the first item and an extra £55 for each additional gem set item or £35 for each additional gold item.

What services do you offer?

We offer a wide range of services in all our stores. We can repair broken jewellery, re-size rings, replace lost stones, solder broken chains and repair worn settings. We can also service watches from many manufacturers, perform pressure tests and change batteries. We can also re-thread pearls and value all your jewellery. Do you buy pre-owned jewellery and watches?

We do rarely buy pre-owned jewellery and watches for exceptional items. If you think you have something we would buy, do bring it into one of our stores and we will let our managing director look at it to make a final decision.

Do you sell pre-owned jewellery and watches?

Yes we do. All our pre-owned range is in our Salisbury store. We do offer pre-owned jewellery or pre-owned watches online.

Can you repair jewellery and watches?

Yes. We repair jewellery and watches in all our stores. You can find a comprehensive list of all the services we offer in our services section.

Do you stock jewellery boxes and organisers?

Yes. We have a great selection of Jewellery organisers, watch boxes and jewellery boxes in all of our stores.

How do I contact Allum & Sidaway?

You can contact us via our site or use our store finder to contact your nearest store directly by telephone or by email.

Where are the Click & Collect locations?

You can purchase any item online by Click & Collect in all our jewellery stores. Salisbury, Gillingham, Shaftesbury, Dorchester and Ringwood. We require 3 working days from date of purchase for us to get the item into the store of your choice.

What if something is not in stock?

All the items shown on our website will be in stock. If there is a particular item, you would like that isn’t being shown please send us an email and we will check if we have it in stock. If not, we can always order it in for you to collect or send it out to you.

How much are Jersey pearls worth?

Jersey Pearls are a brand that we stock in all our stores. Their jewellery starts at £30 for a great tassel bracelet and goes up to £2970 for an 18” pearl necklace.

How much does it cost to replace a pearl in a ring?

The price of replacing a pearl in a ring can differ depending on the size of the pearl that was in the ring previously. Bring the ring into one of our stores and we can get a quote to find out exactly how much it will be for you.

How to adjust Olivia Burton watch?

To adjust the time of an Olivia Burton watch, simply pull the crown out and twist until it is set to the correct time. If you are trying to adjust a bracelet then it depends what type of bracelet is on the watch. Bring the watch into any of our stores and our talented team members will be able to adjust the watch to fit you correctly.

How to set Citizen eco drive?

To adjust the time of a Citizen Eco-Drive watch, just pull the crown out and twist until it is set at the correct time. If you are having trouble, one of our team members will be more than happy to help in one of our stores.

On very rare occasions we do buy watches for pieces that are exceptional. If you are not sure. Bring the piece into one of our stores and we will take a look.

When do you give eternity rings?

Eternity rings are traditionally given to commemorate a milestone in a relationship. The birth of a new baby, a wedding anniversary or any other special milestone.

What is an eternity ring?

An Eternity ring is a woman’s ring set with a continuous line of identically cut gemstones. This is to symbolise a never-ending love.

Bridal

What is the price range of your dresses?

Our made to order gowns range from £895 - £4595 excluding alterations. If you have a budget you would like to stick to, please inform us when making your booking so we can direct you to dresses within your budget.

Do I need an appointment?

We want to make searching for your dream wedding dress as special as possible so that you have our undivided attention during this time. With this in mind we do operate an appointment only service. During your appointment, you will have exclusive use of our bridal boutique, making your appointment a lovely intimate experience for you and your guests at Allum & Sidaway Bridal.

How long is my appointment?

We allocate an hour for your first bridal appointment and 30 – 45 minutes for a follow up appointment.

Do you charge for appointments?

We understand planning your wedding is a very exciting but also costly time. We offer you a completely luxurious experience free of charge, making finding your wedding dress with us completely stress free.

Can I come in and browse your collection?

You are welcome to pop into our store in salisbury to browse if you are in the area and if our boutique is available. However, if we have an appointment booked in then unfortunately, we won’t be able to offer this. All of our dresses are also available to view online prior to your appointment.

How long do I need to order my dress?

Depending on the dress and designer, your dress can take up to 6 months to order in. This time does not include time for your alterations, which we normally recommend you allow 2 months for. If you have less than 8 months, please contact the boutique to discuss your options as we may be able to put your chosen dress on a rush order (fees apply).

Can I take photos during my appointment?

We really want you to be able to enjoy how the dresses make you feel and be able to focus, taking full advantage of your appointment. The dresses you try on in our boutique will be sample sizes and will most likely not fit you the way they are supposed to, we strongly recommend you don’t take pictures as this will not be a true reflection of how the dress will look.

What size are your sample dresses?

Our sample dresses range from sizes 10 - 16UK, however the majority of our samples are sizes 10 - 12UK. All of our dresses to try on are samples and we just carry one of each design. When you order your dress, we will take your measurements and order your closest possible standard size.

What is the minimum deposit needed to order a dress?

To place a dress order we require you to pay a 50% deposit. You then have the following 6 months to pay off the remainder of your dress balance. We accept all major credit cards and cash, unfortunately we no longer accept cheques as payment.

Do you accept refunds or exchanges?

Your dress is made to order, which means that it is getting made specifically for you once you have placed your order. We hope the love you feel for your dress when you place your order lasts a lifetime, but if you do change your mind, we are unable to offer a refund or an exchange.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

We recommend bringing along a nude strapless bra and nude seamless pants if possible. However, do not worry if you don’t own these, they are not essential. We will have shoes available to try on with the dresses if you would like a bit of height.
